Platelet rich fibrin injectable

PRF, or Platelet-Rich Fibrin, is a second generation platelet concentrate derived from a patients own blood. It’s used to promote healing & tissue regeneration for various medical & aesthetic treatments.  It can also be used to improve the skin quality prior to other treatments like dermal filler to improve the cosmetic outcome, for example under the eyes where skin is delicate & thin.

Unlike its predecessor, PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), PRF doesn’t require anticoagulants or bovine thrombin, making it a more natural option. PRF is considered a more advanced form of PRP due to its slower and more sustained release of growth factors
The fibrin matrix acts as a scaffold, supporting cell migration and proliferation, which is crucial for tissue repair

PLATELET RICH FIBRIN
TREATMENT Procedure

PRF, or Platelet-Rich The process involves drawing a small blood sample, which is then processed to concentrate platelets and fibrin. This concentrated substance is then used to stimulate tissue regeneration and collagen production, potentially aiding in areas like skin rejuvenation and hair growth.

  • Blood Collection: A small amount of blood, typically from the arm, is drawn from the patient, this can be multiple tubes in one session.
  • Centrifugation: The blood is placed in a centrifuge, a machine that spins the blood at high speeds. This process separates the blood into different layers based on density.
  • PRF Separation: The layer containing platelets and fibrin, known as the PRF, is carefully collected and prepared for injection.

PLATELET RICH FIBRIN
TREATMENT BENEFITS

Natural and Autologous: PRF utilizes your own blood, minimizing the risk of rejection or allergic reactions.
Growth Factors:Platelets and fibrin within PRF contain growth factors that stimulate cell growth, collagen production, and tissue regeneration
Versatile Applications:PRF is used in various fields, including dermatology (skin rejuvenation, hair growth), dentistry (healing after extractions or implants), and orthopedics (meniscus repair). So it has excellent safe and efficacious use within healthcare.
Second-Generation PRP: PRF is considered a second-generation version of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), with potential advantages like a higher concentration of growth factors and a slower release, leading to potentially longer-lasting effects.

COSMETIC INDICATIONS & ADVANTAGES OF PRF

  • Skin Rejuvenation Lines & Wrinkles
  • Skin Laxity
  • Acne Scarring
  • Hair loss
  • Lower infection risk.
  • Accelerated healing.
  • Safety and convenience

Platelet Rich fibrin FAQ's

Our procedures are very safe, this is a sterile procedure using your own blood, which means that disease transmission is not a factor.

Almost all patients report a much greater degree of comfort immediately after their procedure.

The benefit of PRF Treatment can be permanent, though skin does continue to age and deteriorate even after receiving treatments and as such, wrinkles may start appearing 9-18 months afterwards. Touch-up treatments are available.

Common side effects of PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) treatments are typically mild and temporary. These include swelling, bruising and redness at the injection site.  Some individuals may also experience temporary discomfort or pain during the procedure. Less common side effects can include infection or allergic reactions, but these are rare due to the autologous (using the patient’s own blood) nature of the treatment

Platelet-rich plasma is spun at a higher speed, which effectively causes all of the heavier cells in the blood, such as white blood cells and stem cells, to collect in the bottom part of the test tube and allows the lighter platelets and plasma to collect in the top part of the test tube. The platelets and plasma are then collected from the upper part of the test tube and injected into the region with tissue damage. However, newer research is showing that a platelet product that has an even higher concentration of platelets, as well as a concentration of some white blood cells and stem cells, is even more effective than traditional platelet-rich plasma. With this new information, platelet-rich fibrin was created. The PRF product is spun at a lower speed so that the layers of the blood do not separate out as distinctly. This allows some of the white blood cells and stem cells to remain within the platelet layer that is collected for treatment.
